Conclusion
In conclusion, this experiment was successful on demonstrating the clean up of an oil spill as many of these methods could be used on a larger scale. Tough some may not work in the ocean, there are other aspects of spill clean up they could be used for. My hypothesis was not supported by the results as we cleaned up 97% of the oil rather than 80%. This was likely due to the under estimation of the absorbing ability of the materials chosen. A series of individual tests could measure the individual effectiveness of each material. In conclusion, our chosen method was effective at cleaning up an oil spill.
